Job Description:
- Primary management of corporate and data center infrastructure

• System configuration and support including tools and licensing, database servers, web, FTP and application servers, Subversion and other revision control systems
• Microsoft Windows server support specifically with relation to the

     Web application and networking infrastructure

• System design and architecting
• Firewalls, routers and switches to support corporate internet and intranet

- Assist in management and expansion of the corporate storage infrastructure

• Support of design and expansion of data archiving systems
• Support of  backup infrastructure and execution

- Assist in support of corporate infrastructure servers such as intranet, email, calendaring, web, license, document management, etc.
- Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components- Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems
- Proactive monitoring of all servers, applications and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLA’s.
- Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes
- Management of VoIP and PBX systems
- Work with management and other groups to build and implement security strategies and upkeep of firewalls and intrusion detection systems
- Serve as a project manager on key IT projects for internal initiatives and external customer deliverables
- Work with software development and implementation teams to meet company goals, identify solutions to problems and proactively seek improvements in reliability and the performance of SCA products
- Document FAQ's and IT information for both IT staff as well as user community
-  Interface with vendors for procurement & maintenance of all IT infrastructures.
- Research, evaluate and recommend system technologies to support business requirements.
- Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining server level disaster recovery plans. 
 
Education Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Minimum 9-11 years system and networking administration experience in a complex heterogeneous multiple sites environment, working with Microsoft Windows operating system, fileservers, Microsoft SQL Database servers, Oracle Weblogic application server and firewalls networking hardware
- Preferred Certifications:  Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
 
Competencies required:

• Senior level in Windows 2003-2008 Server & Active Directory domains system administration including NFS, DNS, DHCP Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2003/2008 & Web application Servers. Experience with IIS, Apache and Oracle Weblogic highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of router and firewall central management applications preferably Cisco Security Appliances including site to site VPN’s in a mesh environment
• Strong knowledge of system and network monitoring systems.
• Ability to deploy and support web based applications, SaaS model deployments a plus

• Demonstrated strong ability to multitask and prioritize with department and corporate goals in mind
• Demonstrated strong ability to think strategically and tactically while acting independently under management guidance
• Work with minimal supervision and can multitask by juggling priorities set up by management
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills, team player able to provide technical leadership in IT group
• Advanced database administration skills including backups/restores, monitoring DB performance, running SQL scripts to monitor the system and modify tables when required.  Knowledge of MS SQL server administration and troubleshooting highly desirable. 
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
• Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
• Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information

 
Special working conditions: travel, etc.

• May require periodic travel to remote offices
• Will require services on regularly scheduled weekend network /system maintenance work
• Shared rotational on-call responsibilities.
