With over $150 million in revenues, Jade Wyndham is a leading travel management company that specializes in corporate travel strategies, incentive and meetings services, and convention housing and registration services. The company was increasingly dissatisfied with the software and servicing of its on-site registration for large conventions, which had been contracted to an outside firm.

The Challenge.
Like others in the industry, Wyndham Jade staffed its events with local temporary employees, many of whom were not computer-savvy. The existing DOS-based system made the training of the temporary staff very difficult, and required increasing amounts of time and attention from its supervisors. Wyndham Jade decided to replace the inefficient third-party system with a solution tailored to their requirements.

The Solution.
Wyndham Jade turned to Animato to create a Java-based application that would dramatically improve its business processes and efficiency. Animato led the client through a collaborative engagement that included the following steps:

1. A prototype system was created, based on actual use-case documents

1. After the successful pilot project, Animato developed a Java-based system that ran on BEA Weblogic and Oracle9i 

1. Key features of this web-based system were an intuitive user interface for quick training of temporary workers and built-in process flow for collection of relevant client-defined information

The Results.
The immediate outcome of the new systems was easier and more efficient conference registrations, easing the burden on the supervisors.

Wyndham Jade and Animato continued their collaboration through a second phase of the project. An advanced pre-registration system was developed – this allowed event participants to pre-register for an event, select sessions, secure hotel rooms, make their payment, and more in a seamless manner.

Finally, the pre-registration system was fully integrated with the on-site registration system, ensuring smooth data flows throughout the entire system. Wyndham Jade’s annual recurring costs for both software and service were significantly reduced.
