SCA Technologies, the leading provider of category sourcing and margin management solutions, announced its sponsorship of the National Restaurant Association’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) Executive Study Group spring meeting May 14-15, 2015. This event will be held in Chicago in conjunction with NRA, Hotel-Motel Show 2015, a globally-recognized food industry conference with an expected 65,000 attendees.

The goal of the SCM Executive Study Group is to provide a forum for mutual exchange of information relative to supply chain management best practices and applications as they pertain to the restaurant, food service and hospitality industries. Since its inception, the Supply Chain group has focused on promoting dialogue and providing knowledge on the increasing cost of commodity and wholesale food prices, sourcing of ingredients and traceability of products for its members. As the largest food service trade association in the world, the National Restaurant Association (NRA) supports nearly 500,000 restaurant businesses.

Dedicated to supply chain issues in the restaurant industry, the SCM Executive Study Group offers a great chance to learn from peers. This year’s agenda includes sessions focused on commodity risk management, planning and budgeting, LTO strategy, supply chain visibility and a CFO panel.  “We are excited to welcome supply chain, finance and sourcing executives from across the industry to discuss best practices that can contribute directly to a company’s profitability,” said John Lehmann, Director of Member Engagement Programs for National Restaurant Association.

“As we saw in the recently published 2015 Restaurant Industry Forecast, controlling costs while managing growth continues to be a challenge for restaurant chains. SCA Planner helps chains analyze more dynamic scenarios, with more accurate commodity and inventory data, and immediately see the impact on cost of goods and margins,” commented Samarth Sarthi, CEO of SCA Technologies. “Leading restaurant chains use SCA’s solutions to overcome industry challenges and attain growth by more accurately projecting food & paper costs, optimizing sourcing and supply planning, and better managing margins.”
